One of the most famous churches in Rome is Santa Maria in Portico (Our Lady of the Porch). It was built to house an image of Our Lady, brought from heaven by an angel, to the blessed Galla in 524. The heavenly image has been carried in processions since 590. And has stopped numerous calamities, such as the plague in Rome in 525, and it protected the Eternal City from a deadly earthquake in 1703. Let us pray to the ever-powerful Santa Maria in Portico to end the Pandemic, and most importantly, to end "the eclipse of the Church"!
