The Miraculous Powers of Notre-Dame de Boulogne

"THE FISHER-FOLK HANG OUT THEIR NETS for the annual procession in honor of Our Lady in the French seaport town of Boulogne. Thus they seek divine protection in their hazardous calling. The picture to the left shows nuns decorating a net with flowers. On the right is a little boy representing St. Anthony. The procession was two miles long." (International Newsreel.) St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Benedict Joseph Labre both were pilgrims at the Shrine of Notre-Dame de Boulogne (Our Lady of Boulogne) in France. See related information at: www.tinyurl.com/N-D-de-B
The original miraculous statue of Our Lady of Boulogne, was almost completely destroyed by the enemies of the Church, during the French Revolution. One hand of the original statue, which was barely connected, was providently saved - and hidden right before the French freemasons sacrilegiously threw the statue of Our Lady into a blazing fire. A small piece of wood from the ancient statue's hand, is in this reliquary (shaped as a hand) pictured above.
Illustration of King Louis XI, in 1479 A.D., presenting Our Lady his humble homage, and bestowing upon Her Shrine/the Church of Our Lady of Boulogne-sur-Mer, a solid golden heart weighing as much as two thousand crowns. This illustrious monarch ordained that all the kings of France, his successors, should make a similar offering on their accession to the crown.
