Note: more than 8,0000 Irish Catholics received Holy Communion on the morning the city's bishop unveiled the holy shrine.

Hi John, no it does not. Ember Days are days favored for priestly ordinations, prayer for priests, first Communions, almsgiving and other penitential and charitable acts, and prayers for the souls in Purgatory.
